Pioneers, happy Pi Day 2022! What a year it’s been. Since Pi Day (March 14) 2021, Pi Network has delivered on numerous roadmap objectives while continuing to grow the network’s size and utility. In the last year, Pi Network has matured with the launch of Enclosed Mainnet and seen progress towards decentralization with growth to over 10,000 active Testnet nodes. In addition, the network has now grown to over 33 million Engaged Pioneers! Throughout the year, Pi Network added to and enhanced the Pi ecosystem as well, with features such as the Brainstorm App, Pi Browser, Pi Wallet, Pi SDK, and Pi Blockexplorer.

On Pi Day 2022, Pi Network made two special announcements: the implementation of new mining rewards and the launch of mass identity verification (KYC). While the mining rewards implements three more ways for Pioneers to contribute to the ecosystem, KYC enables Pioneers to verify their identities so they can eventually move their Pi balance to Mainnet. The KYC solution uses a unique decentralized approach, combining machine automation and human verification to accomplish accurate and efficient KYC for everyone.
